Mascara Monday: Sephora Favorites Lash Stash to Go

You didn't think I'd forget about our long standing tradition, did you? Mascara Mondays are back and this week we're checking out Sephora Favorites Lash Stash to go.

 Now that my state has joined the rank of coolness and actually has Sephora (2) and Ulta (3), I can tell you all about the goodies I've tried, not just the ones I'm looking at.  This little baby caught my eye as soon as I walked in the store and I carried it around with me the whole 45 minutes or so that I was there. Ok, so I thought it was the last one and I wasn't going to let anyone else get their grimy little paws on it. Turns out there were tons left at the register (PS- how fun are those cute little displays that you just have to look at before you check out?)

Mascara minis are a weakness of mine and I had to get in on the action and get this one. I'd been dreaming about them, mentally putting them on my holiday wish-list just days before I found the summer version in stores. I never knew they did these at other times of the year. My eyes are peeled for them now.

BeneFit ChaChaTint & Feelin' Cheeky Minis

One of the easiest ways to pep me up is to pop a little blush on my cheeks. I'm pale (and currently tremendously freckled) and without proper cheek color (okay, this is me we're talking about so when I say proper I mean TONS) I can look half dead. During the summer months when makeup seems to melt off the skin like grease on a fire I'm looking for something that will last through hours and hours of hot, sweaty fun in the sun.

Benefit has just released ChaChaTint, an orangey/coral/peach cheekstain that is formulated like their cult, PosieTint. This stuff is pigmented so it will work on the darkest of complexions while still looking fabulous on those of us that are lighter than light. You can easily sheer it out (just like PosieTint) but the color can be worked up to a Jaime-level of bright. For $29 you're probably set on this for life!

The best part? You can use it on lips too! If you like to match your lips and cheeks you can't go wrong with this kit. Pair it with a dash of gold liner and a ton of mascara and you've got a summer look that is sure to knock it out of the park!

If peach isn't your color (and you should try it because I bet you could make it work with this lovely) there's always the Benefit Feelin' Cheeky Mini kit. This $15 kit includes the aforementioned PosieTint, a posie pink cheekstain, as well as original BeneTint, sheer red stain and High Beam, a champagne highlighter that is beloved by many. These adorable minis are a great way to try out these cult classics without shelling out a lot of money. By my count these could last you a lifetime anyway since a little goes a long way.

Benefit BADgal Plum

Figures, blogger's down when I am a writing mood. That's just my luck. Instead of dwelling on it, I'm sucking it up and writing now. Haha! Plus, there were a lot of other ways I could have written to get ahead on posts. Can you tell I'm a procrastinator? Anyway, on to Mascara Monday. I can't believe I still have more mascara to write about, although today's kinda goes with the post I already did on Benefit BADgal Lash, only this one is about the plum shade. Okay, okay, stop blabbering on already, tell us about the mascara, Jaime. I know you're thinking it.

BADgal Plum is awesome! As a green eyed girl I know that purples and plums looks great and honestly, I think they look awesome on all eye shades. However, I'd have to say Benefit's definition of plum is definitely not mine, it's the actual color of the "meat" of a plum, not the skin, more of a maroon color, as I mentioned in my other post. However, I think it looks gorgeous on the lashes, a subtle dash of color that works on it's own or over black for just a hint of color. I don't think anyone would look at you and know that you had plum mascara on, no matter how many coats you splashed on, not even 10 like me.

As usual Benefit did a great job with this one. I adore the size of the brush, it's huge but still easy to control. I know, I know, that definitely sounds like a "that's what she said" kinda comment, but it also happens to be true. This one really fattens up my lashes and gives them length as well, although it is less noticeable with this color than it would be with black, a more natural look. In my experience BADgal lash is a drier mascara which makes it easier to work with without getting it all over you but really, I like to mix things up so it's not a good thing or a bad thing to me, just something to note. By no means is it too dry, it's jut not one of those sticky wet mascaras that take forever to dry on the lashes.

Overall, I think this mascara would be absolutely perfect for red haired girls, like my faux Raggedy Ann hair. Also, I might be crazy but I love the big giant tube with the gold cap, it's a cinch to find in your makeup bag!

Now if Benefit would just make an actual purple (like violet purple) mascara, I'd be so happy. What about you? Have you tried colored mascara? If so what was your favorite?

Benefit BADgal Lash

I remember reading somewhere that one of my favorite actresses (that would be One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush) was a fan of Benefit BADgal Lash. That was enough for me, I had to track some down. As soon as I joined Makeup Alley I made it my mission to swap for it, get it in my possession and never let it go and I haven't. I probably have 4-5 mini BADgal Lash's in my stash and I've tried it in every color in the rainbow, blue, black, brown, plum (although I found it more maroon than plum) and loved every single one. What's not to love?

First of all, the pigments are fabulous, the colors show up on your lashes without shouting look at me I'm wearing blue or plum mascara. As for the black it's one of the darkest out there and it looks amazing on. The second most exciting thing is the brush. It's big, huge even, but not hard to use like many have found with CoverGirl LashBlast. Best of all, I know a lot of people don't like the rubber brushes and this one is regular ol' fibers, no rubber bristles. Also, unlike a few mascaras I have tried, the formula is not heavy, I cannot feel it on even though I'm wearing 5 coats or so, add as much as you want, you won't get clumps.

My lashes look wonderfully full and thick, no clumps in sight and the brush is easy to use for superior definition. I even use it to add more mascara to my outer lashes and you'd swear I was wearing falsies. When I'm wearing this mascara and look up my lashes can touch my brows on a good day. That is amazing.

I should probably mention that these mascaras retail for $19 more than I'm willing to spend on a regular basis but completely worth it if you're on the quest to find that perfect mascara. You can also purchase a mini for $9 and let me tell you they are great for travel.
