Maybelline ColorSensational High Shine

You know what I hate? When the internet and other retailers have to catch up with the ads that companies put out. For a couple months now I've seen ads for Maybelline ColorSensational High Shine Lipstick, but can't seem to find it anywhere, online or otherwise. I can't find it on Maybelline.com, it's not at Ulta yet and I haven't so much as spotted it in stores. UGH!

I'm not sure I can wait any more. I love the looks of these. I've used Maybelline's High Shine lipsticks in the past and they are great. With the emergence of all these great (and expensive) lipgloss like lipsticks from Dior, Chanel and MAC, I'm wanting one that's in everyone's price range to share with you. I'm not used to being ahead of the game, especially not in Maine where we usually don't hear hit songs until they've been around for a month or two. I want one now. You know what? I'll probably be on the hunt for all 10 gorgeous shades when they finally hit stores.

Tell me, have you seen these? Are you willing to pick up one for me? I might not survive unless I can get my hands on one.

Keep an eye out for my makeup tutorial on the ad picture whenever that sucker hits the internet. It's so gorgeous that I have to share a how-to with y'all.

Dior Addict

Galliano controversy aside Dior is on fire. With Natalie Portman and Kate Moss as spokesmodels for the fragrance and beauty lines, respectfully, how could it not be?

I'll admit I haven't so much as touched a Dior item, beauty or otherwise, although I do have these fabulous shoes that are dead ringers for the black Dior pair Sarah Jessica Parker wore in the Sex and the City movie, coincidentally. I have however lusted after Dior and the new Dior Addict lippies are driving me bananas. As you well know I'm not much of a lipstick girl but that doesn't stop me from lusting after these sheer, gloss-like lipsticks. This line has been reformulated along with the rest of the Dior makeup shakeup. Sephora describes them as: "Inspired by the cutting-edge runway fashions of Dior, this hydrating and volumizing formula dresses lips with a veil of addicting color and spectacular shine." Sounds perfect to me.

Of course, being me, I really want to try Rock 'n' Roll, although in swatches it looks nothing like Sephora's description of sheer red and Bobo, a sheer corall-y pink that I can't find online for the life of me. *Sigh* so is my life.

Dior Addict Lipsticks retail for $28 at Sephora, Saks, Nordstrom and Dior. Sephora has ten exclusive shades and Nordstrom and Saks both have one shade exclusive to them.

MAC Supreme Sheen and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine

My collection of lipglosses has gotten out of control, I have over 200, I literally counted them out one day and came up with 180-something. That was before a huge Victoria's Secret haul (my favorite) and not counting the glosses in my purses around the house. It's pretty safe to say that I'll never have to buy another one as long as I live and if they'd stay fresh for the rest of my life I probably wouldn't.

That brings me to MAC's Supreme Sheen Lipsticks and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks. What? I never said I wouldn't cheat on my collection with a lipstick. Truth be told I'm not much of a lipstick girl, short of my wedding day (and that was under gloss) I haven't really worn it too much. That's what makes these lippies so great, the slippery texture and glossy finish. Seriously, with more color than my normally sheer gloss I can have a grown up lipstick in my bag and a great feeling product on my lips. It always looks more chic to pull out a lipstick than a gloss, right? Just remember not to keep these skinny lipsticks in your car this summer. I made that mistake once and it wasn't pretty. What lipstick I didn't wear on my clothes I ended up burning my lips with when I tried to slick on a fresh coat.

Let's start with MAC shall we? I've seen swatches and they're gorgeous, just sheer enough to be wearable in spring and summer and still look substantial enough to carry you through into fall and (UGH!) winter. Peachy Gotta Dash! and warm pink Full Speed call to me in particular. Which ones are you going to pick up?

Then there's Chanel, the only Chanel I'll ever be able to afford unfortunately. Glossimers are great glosses and if it weren't for their price tag I'd probably own more. If you're looking for something extra sheer and sweet look no further just don't expect long wear out of these, the glossy texture disappears at the same speed as a regular gloss but you'll be left with a stain like effect on your lips.

If you try either of these let me know how you like them. I'm jealous just looking at all of the swatches out there, I need one of both of these but alas, the funds are not going to work in my favor for that one.

L'Oreal Spring 2011

You may have been noticing, like I certainly have, an upcropping of tons of new L'Oreal ads this spring, new spokesmodels, new products, new everything. I, for one, am excited about it. L'Oreal's an affordable line with their hands on the pulse.

I cannot get over how gorgeous Jennifer Lopez looks in the EverSleek ads. Wow. Her hair is something to covet anyway but these gorgeous caramel highlights take it to a new level. Then there's haircolor ads with Gwen Stefani and her gorgeous platinum locks and Evangeline Lilly and her pretty coffee colored coif. You couldn't get much more different than both of these ladies but they both represent the L'Oreal brand perfectly and have the amazing hair to pull of the ads. I'd kill for a mane like that.

There's no doubt that L'Oreal makes some killer haircare products but you may not know that their makeup line is just as impressive. If you haven't given it a fair shot because it's at the drugstore you might just want to rethink that. The Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez lipstick ads have me wanting to run out and buy all the red lipstick I can find even though I swear I'll never wear it out of the house. You can't get better marketing than that. And even though I've heard less than stellar reviews of it I really want to try The One Sweep Eyeshadow because of the gorgeous ad with Freida Pinto that I can't seem to find online to show you anywhere! I hope you've seen it because it's gorgeous. This shadow is revolutionary because it contains three shades and a sweeper brush that picks up all the colors in the proper order to give you an amazing smokey eye.

I hope to continue to see some great new ads and, in turn, great new products from L'Oreal.
