Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash

Hey guys! Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather, I know I am. As usual I'm wearing the best and brightest makeup, even to the beach, sticking to the shade as to not scorch my skin in this heat.

This week I'm trying out Make Up For Ever's Smoky Lash just for you! I say that like it's a hardship but I assure you it's not, far from it. I'm loving the way this mascara looks whether I'm wearing bare lids (oops, I forgot to pack a new shadow in my makeup bag so I had to go without) or the bright blue of NYX's jumbo eye pencil in Pacific, a gorgeous purple leaning blue that I'm loving, but more about that later. Let's get down to the good stuff, the mascara!

First of all I think this is one of the darkest mascaras I've ever used, smoky indeed. In ONE coat my lashes are black, not some muddy mix of my light brown lashes and light black mascara but deep dark black, one coat ladies! If that doesn't make this one a keeper, I don't know what does. My lashes were also volumized, lengthened and curled. That alone is worth the $22 price tag. This mascara is perfect for everyday but also great for special occasions and I love that!

This Sephora exclusive mascara has a fiber brush (no rubber bristles here) that really grabs the lash and deposits color. My only gripe about this product is the microscopic clumps it leaves upon application, making it nearly impossible to do the bottom lashes gracefully. We're talking teeny tiny bumps, not spider lashes or huge globs and the other benefits outweigh these. If you're going for an intense look you wouldn't even need to do anything, if you wanted a lighter look I could see using a lash comb for separation.

For those that just cant visit the water without taking a dip Aqua Smoky Lash is the answer to your prayers! Just thank me in your Glamour Award acceptance speech!

Make Up For Ever Uplight

Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away. At least I hope. Right now it's more like rainy days that never seem to give way. You know the best way to actually be able to enjoy this crappy weather? Looking your best while spending your days inside of course, soaking up the candlelit nights.

Or...you could just look like that all the time with the help of Make Up For Ever Uplight Face Luminizer Gel. Available in many colors and finishes you're sure to find one of these $29 miracle workers that is perfect for you. Personally, I'd love to see a mini set of three or four of these babies, just to try them out. Then again, a trip to Sephora could fix all that, test each one and pick a favorite. For those fearless, sparkle loving girls (like me!) go for a sparkling shade. Timid? Try a light dewy finish. If you're somewhere in between you should really look into the pearl collection. Me? I could go with any, there are seven days in a week after all.

I love having a glow and on my dry skin, liquid illuminators feel particularly amazing. If you're lucky enough to have normal skin, or even oilier skin, have no fear, this amazing product is oil-free and lightweight, in fact it's 70% water. You can barely feel it on your face yet it doesn't budge all day. For me, this would be the perfect look for a beach day. Slather on some SPF 100 and a little glow and you can deflect from your flaws with a blindly beautiful sunset like face. You can even rub a little on your cleavage to attract all those simple minded boys to look your way.

Make Up For Ever Lab Shine Glosses

What girl isn't in the market for a new lipgloss for spring? Uh, I probably shouldn't be but that doesn't mean I can't look. I literally have over 200 glosses in my collection, all purchased by me. What? You're judging me, aren't you? Come on, I'll let you borrow one! MUFE Lab Shine glosses come in three finishes, Diamond, Star and Metal.

Every single shade of the Diamond collection is something I could see myself wearing all summer long, sheer and full of sparkle. I'm the first to pull out the shimmery glosses and much prefer them to plain lipgloss provided they aren't gritty. MAC's Dazzleglasses are fine, Dazzleglass Cremes are too gritty for my taste. I hope these are as smooth as the regular Dazzleglasses.

The Star collection is just as wearable and I'm really coveting S26, a medium pink with pearly shimmer. This shade would be fabulous for summertime (whenever that happens to come)! All shades are medium coverage with a pearl finish.

Metal collection is more full coverage with shades ranging from essentially white opal to oil slick black and every color in between. Why you'd want either of the extremes I'll never know. I guess I'm not edgy enough.

My only complaint is the brush style applicator, I'm not a fan. Is it just me or do brushes always splay apart in the container? On the plus side, I hear that they smell like peaches and iced tea. Yummy. That's one flavor I don't have in my collection and, to me, flavor/scent is right up there with color in terms of importance.

If you've already tried these babies out, do tell! I can't wait to get my hands on them and play around with the endless shade choices.

Make Up For Ever Unretouched Ad

If you haven't been living under a rock for the past few years beauty-wise you're sure to have heard about Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation. This stuff is the real deal. There are so many shades I would be willing to bed you can find a perfect match for your skin color and undertones without much difficulty, in fact it can be hard to choose between two nearly perfect matches.

I was shocked when I was reading Cosmo and came across an ad for MUFE that claims to be the first unretouched make up ad. Oh yeah, they went there. It's certified by a notary, no bs-ing here. I was shocked. Of course, the model has gorgeous skin, that's what makes her a model but the ad looks perfect, exactly what I would expect it to look like if it was touched up with a little photoshop. Wow! Color me impressed. Now if I could just afford MUFE HD Foundation or magically wake up with skin like that!
