eos Lip Spheres in Strawberry Sorbet

I know we've talked about these babies before but I think they bear repeating and it is, afterall, my site!

Now that the weather is getting colder it's time to get that lip balm out and attach it to your hip. While eos lipsheres aren't the best for toting in your pocket (that honor would go to my beloved blue Blistex) they are great for the makeup bag and purse. The round shape makes them so easy to find.

I had to share these with you again because I just got around to picking up the Strawberry Sorbet "flavor" and am keeping it firmly by my side as the weather starts to get cooler and my lips inevitably flake and peel into oblivion. Ick!

The scent on this one is subtle and it has no flavor but the pink ball is perfect for all you girlie girls. It'll even look good on your desk at work. I'm telling ya pick one up before I have to yell at you. I found mine at Ulta.

I like these best after you've used them a couple times and the balm isn't as rounded, I find them to be less waxy that way.

Mary Kay Tinted Lip Balm

It's the weekend!!! That means it's time to talk about suncare products. I hope you're out enjoying this wonderful weather and having a good time. As much as I know you're having fun I bet a few of you aren't protecting yourselves in the way you should. How about that SPF, applying every 2 hours? I hope so. I also hope you're protecting your lips.

If you're anything like me and like to wear lipgloss on a daily basis you're probably doing more harm than good to your poor lips this time of year. The gloss attracts the sun to your lips and actually causes them to burn faster than they would if they were naked. Fact! You know when you're on a boat or chillaxin' in a lake and you end up 10x more sunburned than you would if you were on dry land? It's the same deal. The water reflects the sunlight back onto you and gloss does the same thing for your lips. Who knew?

Now if you want to protect them I highly suggest getting a lipbalm or lipstick with SPF. Make sure you're going to use enough to actually protect yourself and reapply when your lips no longer feel hydrated. Not only does the sun burn and age your lips but it can seriously dry them out. But how can we go without color on our lips all weekend, Jaime? I can hear it now! I've got your solution, Mary Kay Tinted Lip Balm SPF 15.

Wait, I can read your mind again, Mary Kay, Jaime? Really? Really! Mary Kay might be your mother's overpriced favorite but us Generation Y-ers are more apt to spend our hard earned money on Urban Decay and Tarte at Sephora! I've actually tried these lip balms and they are great. They're available in 5 colors, all which are more pigmented than you'd expect in a lip balm. They retail for $13 and come in a MAC Slimshine-like package(mine was a sample), thin tall tubes instead of short chubby ones we're used to for balms, so make sure you keep this one cool or it's going to melt all over you and possibly scald your lips when you apply. Bonus, this one smells a lot like MAC lipglass, the cupcake-esque vanilla smell.

I tried Blush and Poppy, two totally different shades. Blush is a brownish rose shade. It's not the color I make when I blush nor the color of any blushes I own but still, I can see why they named it that, it's not that much of a stretch. Poppy is a bright pink, exactly what you'd expect from the name. Take a look (Blush on top, Poppy on bottom)

This is a lighter swatch, equivalent to one coat.

This is a couple coats.

The best part about these is the way they fade. Since they're so pigmented I figured I'd be left with a big ring of color around my lips and a faded center but that wasn't the case with these. They faded into a stain which looked awesome on. Once they were no longer moist to the touch you could conceivably add another layer of your regular balm on top, hopefully another one with SPF.

Payless Shoes Unforgettable Moments Cosmetics & Fragrances

The times, they are a changin'. I guess they have been but I'm stuck in my little bubble named the state of Maine. I'm sure you're sick of me whining about how long it takes to get products up here, I realize we're the edge of the USA but not the end of the world. Thanks!

A while back (um, winter, again!) I found out that Payless, the giant shoe store in every mall in the country, now does fragrance and cosmetics and shocker! they're great! I couldn't help but sample some of the goodies and I actually bought a lip balm and a lipgloss, two things I definitely didn't need any more of. They are so surprisingly amazing that I should have told you about them sooner. Fear not, they're still available. Before we get into that I wanted to share the other goodies with you.

While there are also a naturals line, Zac and Zoe, I really want to talk about the product line I've tried Unforgettable Moments. I have a huge affliction with cheap scents like those from Avon and Victoria's Secret, the perfume grade scents that is. I can't tolerate them, they give me migraines. I hate it because many of the scents are amazing! I do love Avon and Victoria's Secret body sprays and those seem to be fine for me. Don't want to confuse you! Anyway... the fragrances from the Unforgettable Moments line aren't like that at all. No headaches in sight. I tried Charmed and Promise and both are light but noticeable. They are clean and fresh without overpowering you. I couldn't get over how great they smelled, truly! You should check these out, they're so cheap that you can't afford not to at least look into them next time you're in Payless.

Now, onto the beauty! While I'm always a gloss lover, some of the cheaper ones are, let's face it, crappy! Sometimes the flavor is non-existance and therefore it tastes like dirt or they are too sticky or too thick. Not this one. It's thinner in consistency and non-sticky. They have a slight shimmer and a plastic slant tip applicator (great if you want to sanitize and swap/share). They feel silky on the lips and the sheer color is totally wearable in any situation. Best of all they're $2.99, I can't think of another brand besides ELF that is so affordable. Beautiful!

The other purchase I made was the potted lip balm. I used to be very adverse to these, I was always worried I'd end up with product under my nails but that doesn't seem to be the case, at least not when you're still dealing with a full pot. I like mine to have a little bit of color or shimmer (this has both) as well as be soothing to my lips, no stinging or irritation. This one comes in a really awesome tin pot and I've had no problems with it opening up in my makeup bag, however I did have a super hard time getting it open in the first place, that was quite the trip but not a problem once it was initially opened. It's hydrating and makes my lips feel great and looks good on, not invisible. I should also mention that it does melt a little in the summer but it doesn't effect the product at all and I haven't had any leakage, just awesomeness! This one's $3.99!

eos Summer Pack Lip Balm Spheres & Sweet Mint Review

I'm a glutton for beauty products; if something comes out that I have to try I want it, no matter if I need it or not. Until pretty recently I wasn't even a lip balm girl and now I can't stop buying them when I see all the new formulas and limited edition products out there. Right now I'm lusting over (pure lust!) eos Lip Balm Spheres Summer Pack.

A girly-girls dream, this set includes a pink and a purple sphere to not only be awesomely hydrating but to look beautiful on your desk, bedside table or in your purse. I know, we shouldn't care about such silly things but we're women, we like pretty colors. Just like you can distract a man with a sports emblem if you make it pink or purple, women will come!

These flavors/scents are limited edition and both fruity goodnesses will be scooped up before you know it. Probably the only good thing about living in the middle of nowhere is that when items are long sold out nationwide they're just rolling out in stores around here. I haven't seen this set but I'm dying to get my hands on the Passion Fruit and Strawberry Sorbet editions. Don't they just sound delicious? I love me some fruity lip balm.

Recently I finally found Sweet Mint at Ulta and picked it up at Matt's insistence. It was the last one in the collection that I needed. The mint green container is adorable and it smells fabulous. I was a little surprised that the mint was so strong and I figured since the name was Sweet Mint that it would be well, a little sweeter. The mint is pretty strong but it's not overpowering and it didn't sting my lips like some other minty balms. I would really like to see them come out with a wintergreen or spearmint scent that's a little on the sweeter side but there is plenty of time for that.

Seriously if you have not tried these what are you waiting for? They are absolutely perfect for your everyday bag, the larger size is harder to lose in the shuffle and I dare you not to fidget with the thing while you're on the phone. If you didn't already know they are 100% natural and certified organic making them even better in my eyes. How many natural products can perform like these?

eos Lip Balm Spheres

They don't call eos Lip Balm Spheres the lip balm that makes you smile for nothing, they really do! I always smile when I spot these, of course that might have something to do with the fact that my cat, Simon, is always knocking them from their spot and batting them around the house. But, they're so good that I have to keep them handy. There's one on the table beside my couch (summer fruit), one in my makeup's lippie drawer (medicated tangerine), one in my bedside table (lemon drop SPF 15), one in my purse (sweet mint) and last but not least honeysuckle honeydew wherever it's needed. Now that I've written them all out I realize it's quite an oversight to have the SPF 15 lemon drop in my night table and not in my purse so it's time for a switcheroo! In case you can't tell, I've collected them all, that's how much I love them.

These little spheres are a godsend. They're big enough to be easily spotted in your purse but small enough that they still fit into the smallest of clutches. If you're a pocket girl may I recommend the lip balm sticks? More compact and available in two different scents (vanilla bean and pomegranate raspberry) as well as sweet mint. I don't have any of these yet but just looking at the scents makes me want to venture out and find them all. Not only that but they are 95% organic and 100% natural and are free of gluten, parabens, petrolatum and phthalates, only making them all the more exciting in my book. Regretfully, natural and chemical-free items don't always factor into my shopping purchases but I love it when I know that I'm not adding more chemicals to my processed food-loving body!

I swear before these babies came along I was the type of girl to slick on some gloss or hydrating lipstick when my lips needed moisture, now I'm a lip balm addict, although in my house all types are referred to as ChapStick (which I also love). Am I alone on that one or do others fall into that trap too? Considering how much I love these babies I should just start calling all lip balm eos but I imagine my husband would take quite a while to get used to that.
