Face-off Friday: Lzzy Hale of Halestorm

Women in rock music inspire a lot of my beauty looks. Although I could never pull off some of their fearless fashion choices I can certainly rock their makeup for a night out. Later today I'll be posting my concert review but first I thought it was appropriate to take over today's Face-off Friday with the lead singer of Halestorm, Lzzy Hale. Let's get to it.

First off, here's Lzzy looking all sweet and innocent. Even with her pale skin, black hair and Van Halen t-shirt, this is sweet for this Pennsylvania rocker. I can't say that I would ever be able to rock such a stark contrast between skin and hair but if anyone can do it it's Lzzy. I'd like to see her with red hair or perhaps some more of the purple streaks I've seen her wear. She's not a drop dead gorgeous model type but who says that people with voices like that have to look a certain way? She rocks and that's all there is to it.

Now we have Sexy Lzzy, rocking tousled (and highlighted) brown locks. I like the softer shade on her and think it really brings out her features much better. The volume softens her angular face but she doesn't lose her rock 'n' roll edge. The smoky brown eyes and lipgloss help her look promo picture ready but it's not necessary for everyday life. I like the more natural choice of colors the makeup artist used, instead of going for colors that Lzzy might not be comfortable with. I can't picture her with a bubblegum pink lip, can you?

So, I'm pretty sure it's an easy decision for me, I love Lzzy all glammed up, it really softens her look and makes her look feminine. You don't have to be one of the boys to be a rockstar but you don't have to be a Barbie doll either. What do you think? Are you a fan of the darker hair and barely there makeup or the glamourized version seen in videos, on posters and CD artwork?
